How do I search for a question?
There are two ways to search for a question. If you already know the question ID, you can select the option of searching question by question ID and type the question ID to perform the search. If you do not know the question ID, you can select the option (the default option) of searching by question attributes and then interactively fill out the question search attribute values.
How do I search through question attributes?
Questions can be searched through their attributes such as keywords, category, question type, and answer status. To select a category, move your mouse over to the "Category" link and follow the popup menu to select your desired category. Keywords, category, and question type are question attributes that can be edited by registered users. The goal of allowing user editing of those attributes is to come up with the best possible values for those attributes so that readers can easily find the questions they are looking for through search.

When a user submits a search request, Wisteme will try to find the set of questions that match all the attribute values supplied. Any question that satisfies only part of the search query will not be returned.
What is the best practice for question search through question attributes?
The best practice for question search through question attributes is to iteratively refine the search scope with the assistance of keywords and category hints provided by the system. Always start with a broad search scope, such as one or two keywords with a broader category. When search results return, try to refine the search based on the number of questions found and the keywords and category hints provided. This will help you to avoid being too narrow in scope at the very beginning to miss the questions you are looking for.

If you find the current attribute values of a question does not produce the best search experience, please go to the question editing page to modify those attributes so that in the future users can have a better search experience.
How do I find questions that have not been answered?
On question search page, select question search through question attributes. Leave the keywords field empty, select your question category, select the type to "any", select the answer status to "no answer" to perform the search. It will return all the questions in the selected category that have not been answered yet.
