    Answer:
Blood sugar is a measure of glucose in the blood. Glucose is the body's fuel and primary source of energy. Without it, the brain, nervous system and tissues of the body will not function normally. Blood sugar is expressed as millimoles per litre with a typical normal range of 4 and 8 mmol/L (70 - 150 mg/dL). Blood sugar rise after meals and are usually lowest in the morning, before the first meal of the day.

Too much (hyperglycemia) or too little (hypoglycemia) blood sugar can threaten your health if not also your life. Diabetes mellitus, characterized by persistent hyperglycemia of several causes, is the most prominent disease related to failure of blood sugar regulation.
