    Answer:

Newton's Third Law states that for every force, there is an equal and opposite force. Though there is no resistance in the vacuum of space, it does not mean that no forces can be applied to move an object. A space ship's thrust obtained by the rocket's ejection still can move the ship forward. The rocket's ejection projects a force out the rear of the rocket and the equal and opposite force is generated to propel the rocket forward to counteract that force. The angle of the rocket ejection can be used to steer the forward moving direction.
