The download process did not start and could not continue. I installed the the required update,then my window 8Pro restarted and configured. Check your points. I had no problems before but ended up buy an SSD installed windows, installed all the updates there are no hidden updates.

For now I will leave the computer this way so right now it looks exactly like the last screenshot but the "New" Windows RE Recovery partition that was 350 MB and
couldn't access safe mode or any option with F8 used so put the install disk in and when to cmd tried chkdsk, sfc offline with windows and boot nothing ended up
I used Partition Wizard to make 50 MB of unallocated space right after the new Windows RE recovery partition ( I took it from the next partition- D: I then enlarged

If it's only problem was updates, why wouldn't MS have win 8.1 check to see if you have all updates and just NOT try to install Win 8.1 if all updates
For many, this isn't a huge loss -- many of us stream rather than watch DVDs, after all, and Microsoft has been trying to kill off Media Center since Windows 8. Microsoft really dropped the ball on this one. I love the 8.1 but i think MS should have planned better for the troubleshooting mrbill Big thread over on MS forums .....massive fail in this update.
