Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. With enough requests to keep the settings and default apps alone they might listen and add that as an install option when updating to new builds. PS: These are clean installs of Windows 10 Home, PRO and LTSB with all updates upto Jan 2017. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this?

Went back and changed the PDF app to Acrobat, and immediately it reverted in the Default Apps window to Reader DC.
