I checked the TCPIP6Parameters on my laptop (Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit) and it didn't have the DisabledComponents keyword at all.
However when I performed all three steps (including booting up the two old computers to have them leave their home groups) it worked!
My PC (home network) can recognize my laptop and its folders but cannot open them.
