Since I'm the family guru and so get nagged about fixing things, please HELP! Try to reconnect the USB device and see if it is recognized. Storage devices are described as compatible and working properly, even though they can not connect. It's just MY iPod that isn't charging at my computer all of a sudden. check over here

I've unplugged and moved everything many times all to no avail. check my blog When I look at the Properties of the Generic Volume I see "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware . The small microprocessor on the motherboard will reload the drivers and your USB ports should hopefully be recognizing devices again. I assume you have the Lenovo H520 desktop model? That was the trick. Discovered that pressing f2 takes me into bios but there is nothing there which enables me to look at cmos settings. I know that the problem is in a file in c:\windows\INF , but I don't know ecxacly which one. I don't know if I have somehow accidentally uninstalled some hardware but I have tried searching for new hardware both with and without items connected to the usb ports.

Sometimes, I have to reboot the computer 3 and even 4 times a day because of this, since when my USB ports stop working, I don't have internet access anymore. I've uninstalled them many times, then rebooted.
