Motherboards with an older revision and motherboards with newer revisions work fine and even the "bad" update was perfectly happy on Windows 8.1, but the installer would fail every time a I like the modern interface (to an extent) however all my games lost support for my game pad and mouse, that and there other issues eg slow boot slow shutdown. The design was awful and the Metro interface was utterly useless.

The computer is running slowly right now. My laptop running fine on windows 8 until it attempted an upgrade to 8.1...it took like 4 hours for the PC to state... All of this is problematic on my Windows 7 machine with an i7 2.2 gHz quad processor.
