I have followed your notes and still unable to see the printer on the Notebook. Once I enabled the Windows Firewall service, I could start the Homegroup Listener. I have connected the Notebook to the Printer via a Notebook USB and it works. I have not tried the "home group" issue since I have no need for it for now, but will try it later to see what happens, using the same technique - THANKS! I do not even see MSHOME or the Desktop Computer Name anymore.

Homegroups are NOT setup (not created) on neither the laptop nor the desktop.
After sharing the printer, disable the windows firewall again and the sharing is still active.
I set up a home network (wireless) on the desktop and can join that network with the other computers using the password, however after I join, the printer is not listed.I
