Why write the OS so that it turns control of the computer over to running applications so that poorly written or incompatible programs bring not just the offending application down but I am assuming there is a registry entry which is corrupt and it just does not work. I do not have Vista (thank God), and so I am not familiar with it. The hard part is finding a way to remove it from the registry without it impacting your OS. This gives you the opportunity to note keeping something you want prior to the final step. To determine your version, click the Start button and open the Control Panel.
Also only the butn options are availaible for edit. OTHERS SHOULD USE THIS TO GET IT WORKING. my problem is that the only tab i get in the options is for burning cd,s.

After trying dozens of solutions this one finally worked!!!!
Linux does not have a registry and so no registry corruption.
I just wish that in the Vista Help section they would mention this option.
