I saw today that version Version V3.0.9 (http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrab...Desk_Download/) has been released so I gave it a try and it completed it without any errors using the same usb that was failing So, basically, I have given up trying to use this Dell software with no real support on how to fix the problem.
