Occasionally the touchpad and keyboard become completely inoperable while the laptop is in use (a USB mouse will work, however). While Toshiba works on this, I have figured out a quick, effective workaround. You may get a warning but accept that and move on.

The only steady way to fix this crash in this time is edit the registry keys, as I wrote above.
Device drivers have been replaced and reinstalled, registry has been cleaned...
Have reinstalled BIOS, touchpad driver, run diagnostics - no errors...
When I check in the Mouse options it does not show the Dell Touch Pad Tab, while the Dell Touch Pad Driver Software is shown in Programs and Features.
So you should consider to upgrade your system to 13.10 which came with a new kernel - 3.11, that could solve your problem.
