Great laptop so far but I had a similar problem with my Sculpt Touch mouse sporadically.I fixed it by turning off the power saving feature in Bluetooth Settings->Hardware->(Select appropriate adapter)->Properties->Change settings->Power All the touchpad/tracker buttons/detection just doesn't respond.I have to naivate my laptop using a mouse at the moment. This did work for me and I am sure it will work for all platforms.
