I have just started to recover from these problems, so my eyesight is still a bit compromised.
If i close one tab or window wait 5 minutes then reopen the task manager i still have three iexplore.exe commands running.

Just some notes: I don't see where "explorer.exe" was even mentioned except in one post to allude to the occasional occurance where iexplore.exe and explorer.exe/Windows Explorer overlap in their need to LH was probably on to something with running AVs. Iexplore.exe And Iexplore.exe *32 third of all, the ie tasks do NOT open ie windows (if i hadn't checked the task manager, i wouldn't have known that the ie instance was running).
